How do You Obtain Freedom?

In the name of Jesus; may God be blessed as you develop your freedom in Him.

We all want to have freedom. For our correlated understanding in this newsletter, freedom is:

  1. “the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants without hindrance or restraint.” (freedom definition-google),
  2. “the condition or right of being able or allowed to do, say, think, etc. whatever you want to, without being controlled or limited:” (Cambridge English Dictionary)

As you read these two definitions, what thoughts come to mind? Do they remind you of mental and physical freedom for all? Do they remind you of selfishness?

  1. “According to the Christian worldview, true freedom is not a matter of doing what you want without restraint, but cultivating the right wants and living in obedience to God’s will. In other words, freedom results when our wants align with God’s will.” (voices,
  2. “1. A state of exemption from the power or control of another; liberty; exemption from slavery, servitude or confinement. Freedom is personal, civil, political, and religious. See Liberty.

2. Particular privileges; franchise; immunity; as the freedom of a city.

3. Power of enjoying franchises.

4. Exemption from fate, necessity, or any constraint in consequence of predetermination or otherwise; as the freedom of the will.

5. Any exemption from constraint or control.

6. Ease or facility of doing any thing. He speaks or acts with freedom.

7. Frankness; boldness. He addressed his audience with freedom.

8. License; improper familiarity; violation of the rules of decorum; with a plural. Beware of what are called innocent freedoms.”(KJV dictionary av 1611.c),

As you read these two definitions, what thoughts come to mind? Do they remind you of mental and physical freedom for all? Do they remind you of unselfishness?

In all actuality, the first set of definitions is a worldly self-indulging untamed insight that is primarily based on your uncontrollable thoughts and actions without any consideration of the consequences your decisions have on humanity.

The second set is based on God our Creator’s rules and laws of which we are allowed to discipline ourselves to coincidingly live with the freedom of actions and thoughts with all of His creations.

The great truth about freedom is that God has blessed all creation with freewill and a way to know our freedom as He created them to flourish, by our learning His word.

The quality of your life is dependent upon your choices. Choose wisely.
